Hello
I am applying I-131 concurrently with I-130,I-485, and I-765 as I recently got married to a citizen. I have a question about the actual approval date for the card.
After I-131 application is received by USCIS, you would see "Case was received on __date___" online as the status.
When it is approved, you would see "Case was approved on ___date___".
Next, you would see something like "EAD card was generated and/or mailed on __date__".
Even after the case approval, it may take very long for EAD card to reach me physically (due to USCIS issue, post office issue). Therefore, I was wondering if "Case was approved" means anything.
So, my questions are,
1) On the physical EAD card, what date gets written on the "Valid from ___"? Is it the date when the case is approved? or the date when EAD card is generated?
2) Can I travel outside of US as soon as I see the "Case was approved" status update, without having the physical EAD card?
When the physical card arrives in mail, I would have my friend/family ship the card to me so I can return to US with it.
Thank you!
