Anyone files expedite request for EAD I-765?

So here is my case to share and I hope if anyone has similar situation can share too!

11/21/2016 case was received

12/12/2016 went to an interview and file the expedite request after that

12/17/2016 received notice to fax more proofs for the expedite reason

12/22/2016 got the job offer letter and fax them with other proofs


Till now there is no updates from the USCIS website other than "case was received", I called them just to confirm if they receive my fax but was told "will get notice soon", which is a meaningless answer. Search online that many people's status become "card is being produced" within several days after they fax, but I still got nothing. Wonder if the USCIS has Christmas vacation so it slows down all the process?


*ps I also get RFE for the I-485 (apply together with the EAD) on Dec 09 and haven't ready to send them yet. Does this affect the EAD?

I also requested to expedite the process on the phone and I was told to wait 5 business days to receive the decision on whether or not they will expedite the process.
5 days later, I received an email that my request was denied on the grounds that they only expedite i795 applications if there was no change in the case status for 75 days from the received date.

As of today, 12/29/2016 my status is still "Case was received".

I have also sent my i485 application but I didn't do them together because my EAD was expiring.

Maybe try calling the customer service help line and put in your request thru the phone again.

expedite doesn't work

hello,

I've applied for an EAD back in December 2015 and I called them / e-mail them tried every single normal action to expedite the EAD process but they don't expedite EAD unless it's a really really urgent thing like emergency situation, severe financial loss etc... They usually ask you some questions to determine if it can be expedited or not.

In my case, applying as a spouse of, there should have been an easy process. I received my EAD in 4 months and I received it this "fast" at that time because I contacted my local congressman after 100 days (I had no idea I could do this because otherwise, I would have contacted the congressman earlier in the process).

So, my advice is to contact your local congressmen. He/she will ask you to fill out a form and provide certain documents that were submitted to USCIS, provide receipt number and describe your situation, also tell the congressmen which USCIS location handles your case. Congressmen will ask USCIS in your belhaf and try to find out more than you know...

I applied for expedite on 13th November

14th November Case was responded to asking for RFE
28th November Case was given to an officer
29th November your request to have your case expedited, referral number T1Bxxxxxxxxxxxx, was completed. (apparently this just means our officer has finished looking at our case. Called them this morning and was told they now have 60 days to decide. They said expediting doesn't mean it'll be quicker just gets priority. We've waited 75 days today so making a Service request tonight.
