Hello,
I filed I-140 and I-485 concurrently in January, and received my EAD card in March. I also have H1-B status sponsored by the same employer.
I intend to continue working for this employer full-time, but I am receiving some offers to do some contractual short-term part-time jobs for another employer in my spare time. So my questions are:
(1) Does EAD allow me to take such part-time offers without jeopardizing my current green card process as long as I keep working full-time for the GC-sponsoring employer? If it does, are there any restrictions applied by the immigration laws to the secondary job?
(2) If I engage in such part-time moonlighting job (again, without leaving my current GC- and H1-sponsoring employer), would my H1 status remain valid?
I would really appreciate any comments on these questions.
Best regards,
Yarik.
