  • USCIS officer told me EAD processing time is 3-5 months

Just got off the phone with USCIS after finding out that my case was delayed by another 2 months, also discovered that now I can only request a first inquiry about my EAD card process after 5 months.
Not 60-90 days like every official and unofficial website that specializes this case states! Anyone else who have heard of something similar? Is it a new decision from the new government?

Did you know the reason your case was delayed?

Yeah they needed the birth certificate of my sponsor. Was sent once by my lawyer on January 1st, they lost it somewhere in their mail... Only on February 27th they received the mail and unfreeze my case.

Yes, they didn't receive my sponsor's birth certificate to prove that he is a US citizen. Not the first, or second time only one the third time it was sent, they actually got it, about 3 months later than my pd...

That's the reason, if you got RFE, then the 90 days clock is on from the date they got your additional documents.

              EAD CARD RENEWAL Issues

I sent mine in for renewal since 12th Dec.2016 so on or before 12th March. few days after received a regular acknowledging the receipt and early Feb 2017 got another letter stating it's in process but to my greatest surprise it's already 90 days today no words from USCIS but placed a call to USCIS March 8th 2017 I was reliably told that i should have placed a call after 30 day since i did not receive my new EAD card but anyways the REP told me she will put a request over to see where the STATUS of my application was. Does anyone have same issues?
