I need some help in determining if this notice (below) will be accepted by the DMV to extend my drivers license. As you probably know, the DL expires when your visa or EAD expires.
We applied for our green card March 2016 and our EAD runs out this May. Our lawyers messed up and only advised us o apply for an EAD extension less than 90 before it expires. We received our receipt for the extension and the receipt says 'This notice of action automatically extends the validity of your EAD for up to 180 day from the expiration date printed on the face of the card.' This is a new law bought in through the Trump administration. I can't find out from the DMV phone number or anywhere online if this counts as a legal document to extend my DL. They've been totally useless in helping me. I have an appointment next week but want to find out sooner.
Any information would be much appreciated.
