I am currently on a L-1A visa and applied for a GC via the EB-1 process. I have obtained the EAD/AP card before I received a mail regarding biometrics, so my EAD/AP card says "fingerprint not available." My timeline looks as follows:
November 2015: I-140 petition filed (Multinational Manager, EB1)
August 2016: I-140 approved by USCIS
September 2016: Immigration lawyer received I-140 approval notice
December 2016: I-485 AOS, I-765 EAD, and I-131 AP application filed with the USCIS
Mid-February 2017: EAD/AP card received in mail with "fingerprint not available" on the face
Late-February 2017: Biometrics completed
Now that I have completed the biometrics and have the EAD/AP card on hand, my questions are:
(1) How soon can I expect to receive the green card?
(2) Can I lawfully change my employer from the current company to another by using the EAD/AP card?
(2a) If I switch an employer, technically I will be without a visa because I have left the Company that has sponsored my L-1 visa. Do I get in trouble for staying in the US?
(2b) If I switch an employer, would there be a travel restriction until I receive the green card in mail?
(2c) If I switch an employer, would this cause any delay or cancellation of my green card application?
Thank you in advance for your help.
