I just joined this forum so a big Hi to everyone!
I am here on my L1A visa along with my wife and kid.
Some dates
1) My L1A I-797 ends on 9/23/2017.
2) My wife's EAD is from 7/28/2015 to 7/28/2017
3) As its now slightly less than 6 months away, my L1A renewal is in progress. However, I don't think I will be able to get these things done BEFORE 7/28/2017
a) Get my L1A renewed
b) Based on that, apply for EAD renewal
c) Get EAD renewed from 7/28/2017 to say, 2 more years, to not have any gap in EAD for my wife and have her lose her job.
Given this, I am thinking of this
1) Apply for EAD renewal based on my current I-797.
2) Get it renewed from 7/28/2017 to 9/23/2017 - Will USCIS renew it for around 2 months? Can someone please shed light on whether this is a valid option?
3) In parallel, apply for L1 renewal and then later apply for EAD renewal again for 2yrs from say 9/23/2017.
I will end up paying twice but I am ready to bear the cost to not lose her job.
Really appreciate any help!
Thank you so much all.
Nilesh
