Hello......
My wife came to the USA 2 months ago with the K1-visa. We were recently married and need to apply for change of status. She already has a SS card which states " eligible for work with DHS approval". I would like to know if she can work without the EAD? How long does it take to get an EAD? The SS office told us that her 1-94 card was her "approval" to work, but this expires in one month.
Also, we are going to the SS office tomorrow to apply for a name change to her married name. Anyone have comments on this. She already has a PA photo ID with her married name. Will we have more paperwork to complete at the immigration offices??
