What is the time period for which L2 EAD's are generally approved

I have my I94 expiring in March 2020 and my L2 visa expiring in Dec 2017

So what would be the length of approval for my EAD which is in process now?

EAD renewal

My husbands L2 visa expires on 26th of June 2017 and so does my L2 EAD.
He has applied for an extension in premium category. Can I also in the meanwhile apply for my EAD extension or need to wait until his approval?
Can anyone help?

Generally when i read many forums regarding this, i see that it can be applied until you have a valid i94 in hand. But there are possibilities that it might go to RFE and you might have to submit the extension approval for L2. So iam not actually sure how it exactly works.
