Urgent Advance Parole approved but not received by Post. Can one still leave country?

USCIS customer service confirmed AP was approved and mailed via USPS on Oct 24th. Flight is tomorrow Oct 27th. Can I let my father leave the country and courier the physical notice to him later for rentry to US? Does he need to have AP in hand while leaving US?

Yes, he could, if it was really approved. But there is risk for example if it wasn't really approved (it was a mistake) or it gets lost in the mail either when sent to the US address or when you send it to him abroad.
