Got paid by insurance when L2ead under renewal

Hi,
I started working on L2ead and during which I got severely sick and was getting paid from insurance company for disability.
My EAD got expired and we applied for renewal got the card with a month and half gap,during which we got paid by insurance the disability pay.We noticed this recently?
What can we do now?
If we return the disability check we got paid during that time ,will that be ok ?
Recently my insurance company is asking my employment authurization documents.
