Hi all,
First of all I would really appreciate any advice anyone could give me on this! I submitted my application for AOS with i-485, i-130, i-130A and all documentation that goes with it etc. I'm applying for a green card through marriage to an American citizen. I rather unfortunately forgot to submit my i-765 with the packet and do not want to wait 6+ months to be able to work. I called USCIS and the customer representative told me I could submit my i-765 with an email copy of my receipt and accompanying case number. The package, which I tracked, arrived on January 8th. It's January 25th, and yesterday I called USCIS who informed me they hadn't received it yet and it would be under a stack of applications probably. They said call back around March to see if it had been received and was being processed. I received notice of application being accepted 6 days after I sent my original submission off but they don't have the -765 it after 17 days? I neglected to attach an i-797 with my resubmit though. My questions are:
Does anyone have experience or advice with something like this?
Will the estimated 90 days for an EAD card only start when they can confirm they have received the i-765?
Will this affect the processing time of my application overall?
I'm worried the i-765 will be overlooked or discarded and I'll be waiting on an EAD card that never comes. 3 months versus 6+ months is a huge difference. My original application was accepted a month ago and I've already done my biometrics. Does anyone have any tops or advice for what I should do? I appreciate any response.
