  • USCIS requesting additional information for I-765?

    Hello everyone!

    Filed: I-765, I-485, I-131 along with I-912 due to U Visa
    From Phoenix, AZ

    Original receipt day: 9/1/2017

I received a letter with the following:

Request for Additional Evidence Was Mailed

On February 1, 2018, we mailed a request for additional evidence for your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, Receipt Number xxx-xxxxxxxxxx. The request for evidence explains what we need from you. We will not take action on your case until we receive the evidence or the deadline to submit it expires. Please follow the instructions in the request for evidence. If you do not receive your request for additional evidence by March 3, 2018.... etc.

Has this happened to anyone? if so what do they generally need?
Please help any information helps. I have been waiting for 153 days and now that doesn't matter my timeline will be reset once I mail the information they are requesting.

Thanks in advance and best of luck to everyone!

This is a misconception that your timeline resets if you received a RFE. My case was approved within 2 weeks of submitting additional evidence. Each case is different and it really depends on the officer working on your case. Just wait until you receive that letter, because there is no way to know for sure what evidence they are requesting. Make sure to send them exactly what they asked for. Best of luck!

Thanks for your respond. I hope my case ends soon I am beyond stressed like many others.
I called USCIS today and spoke to someone they mentioned I couldn't speak to a tier 2 officer since they're not able to tell me what it is that I need to provide. All I can do is wait for the letter to get here, she advised that the letter can take up to 30 days to arrive. She did mention once I mail the information back to them and they recieve it my case timeline will reset...

Each case is different, who is working on your case will determine how quickly your case moves through the system. Like I said I got my approval within 2 weeks of submitting my evidence.
Just keep us updated on your progress. Best of luck.
