  • Travel Plan in May 2018 - Needing Advice

    Hello,

I have had my combo card (EAD + AP) since October 2017 and I am planning a trip back to my country in May 2018. Here is my timeline (Montgomery, AL local office):

    I-485, I-765, I-131 Received 07/10/2017

    Request for Initial Evidence 08/02/2017

    Biometrics 08/09/2017

    Initial Evidence Received 09/05/2017

    I-765, I-131 Approved 10/05/2017 (Combo Card Received in 10/2017)

Case status has been ready to schedule an interview (I-485) from 09/13/2017. Long processing time inquiry was placed on 02/20/2018. As of now (03/26/2018), still waiting for inquiry response and interview date.

I do not know if my interview date is coming up in May or not. Should I travel on AP in May 2018? I need your advice!

    Thank you.

i guess it depends on how long you are intending to travel?
If its just a week or 2 it shouldnt be an issue.
Perhaps you can sign up for USPS informed delivery so you know if a letter is coming and someone could check your mail for you to let you know the contents?
Worst case scenario you have to reschedule your flights.
This is my opinion, not legal advice!

Thanks! I may travel in 3 weeks, hope it would not cause any issues. I have also already signed up for USPS Informed Delivery, so I hope the process would go smoothly.
