When will e-verify work once EAD approved?

I was wondering if e-verify works as soon as the application for EAD is approved? So i'm talking about the online status saying we've approved your application without having the card in hand.
Just wondering if people have experience with this when for instance a work visa is expiring and the EAD card is not in hand yet.

I tried checking myself through the website, all I got was nothing. They couldn't verify me at all. I also have my card in the mail. So i am still waiting for mine to get delivered.
