  • Have to travel for work!

Hey everyone, I’m an adjustment of status case (interview yet to be announced) and I have an EAD/AP combo and am required to travel to Canada in May for just over a week. Initially overstayed my b1b2 visa a few days before getting married.

My lawyer initially suggested I only travel on advance parole for extreme emergencies but then later on back-pedalled and said I can travel on it with no worries. And now he’s on vacation in Italy just as I need to give my employer a definite answer.

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge with this? If anyone has a lawyer I can talk to on the phone for for literally five minutes to clear this up that would be great too. If I don’t go on this Canada trip I will have to resign from my job.

    Many thanks,
    Matthew

If you have advanced parole you shouldn't have an issue, after all being able to travel outside of the country and re-enter without abandoning your AOS process is what AP is for.
This is strictly an opinion and should not be misconstrued as legal advice. The use of this information is strictly at your own risk.
