  • Received EAD in mail after 211 days! BUT there's an error! Please Help

    Hello everyone!
I haven't had the greatest luck here
Just hope anyone has any suggestions...
    Her's my complete Timeline

    9/14/2017 - Case received
10/6/2017 - (23 days later) Notice date on i797c informing me of my upcoming biometric appointment **Lawyer failed to notify me of this notice**
10/25/2017 - (42 days later) Biometric appointment date **Missed appointment**
12/1/2017 - (79 days later) Walked into Phoenix office and completed my biometrics
    12/8/2017 - (86 days later) 1st and only SR
12/13/2017 (91 days later) SR assigned & received a response of "Case is under review please wait"
2/1/2018 - (141 days later) RFE notification received (asking to verify identity and name change due to marriage)
3/16/2018 - (181 days later) Responded to RFE: I mailed, a copy of passport, drivers license, marriage certificate & divorce
3/27/2018 - (195 days later) Email notification saying: We received your response to our RFE for your Form I-765, Our VSC office is working on your case again.
4/7/2018 - (206 days later) Email notification saying: We ordered your new card for Receipt Number EACxxxx, and will mail it to the address you gave us.

4/10/2018 - (209 days later ) Email notification saying: We approved your case.
4/12/2018 - (211 days later) EAD received in the mail

My lawyer said I can return the card but it can take 3-6 months to get a corrected one???
    WHAT?!?!?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!

I called USCIS and filed an SR was told by a rep I'll receive a response in 5 days or so...
Rep told me I need to resubmit form i-765 and include detail explanation as to what the error is along with the incorrect EAD
I asked him if it was going to take 3-6 months again, his response was "generally no"
I'll ask to expedite your case in this SR I am submitting...

THIS IS ALL A JOKE, seriously I don't know what else to do but cry.

Has anyone gone through something like this and can tell me what the outcome was

Btw. The error is showing my maiden name vs my married name

Are you unable to use it with your maiden name? Many people keep their maiden names for work anyway. And you have proof to show that the person named is you whether it is your maiden or married name being used. It would be a shame to have to send it back and have to wait all over again.

Im sorry for you though, how frustrating when yoy just thought you were coming through the other side.

      Thank you for your response.

I didn't know that was possible?? I thought I couldn't do that since my social security card and drivers license shows my married name.
I would think that would cause an issue when verifying my i-9
Shouldn't my name match in all forms of identification?

I mean I could always just keep my maiden name but that would only cause more delay on my i485 case since my name has been changed on that.

It is very frustrating I really don't know what to do
I haven't worked in 6 months and that is the reason why the rep said he asked for my case to be 'expedited' in the SR he submitted today.

I don't know; it might be worth exploring with someone in the know. My drivers license and passports have different names but I have my marriage certificate to verify that they belong to one and the same person.

Fingers crossed that it gets rectified shortly. I haven't worked since August so I share your frustration .
