I have a question regarding how mobile you can be when applying for a EAD; is it ok to travel out of state during a few weeks after applying?
Me and my wife is moving to the US with me on a J2 dependent visa. Just after arriving I'll be filing my EAD request and soon after that I have the opportunity to travel with my wife to another state for her work, this means that no one is at home to check the post box etc. Would this be a problem with for example the biometric appointment? Is it possible to get notified with other means, like SMS or email?
How long does it usually take in your experience to get the biometric appointment? I will apply in Washington DC.
