Expediting expiring EAD

Hey guys,

I'll go to the Memphis office to try and expedite my expiring EAD next week. Does anybody have a sample letter from the employer? I just need to come up with one and have my boss sign it.

My PD is 1-12.
EAD processing timeline says 12-18 on the USCIS website.
My EAD expires on 7-7.

It's cutting real close. 😥

That's not an EAD category. I mean, on what basis did you get an EAD? Or, what is the 3-character code on your EAD?

I mean, yes it is. I was a F1 student and I have the OPT-EAD. They give you a year to work after completing your studies. 3 years, I think, of you are STEM.
I don't know about any 3-character code, sorry.

So you have an existing EAD from OPT, and you are trying to get a different EAD in a different category (e.g. based on a pending I-485)?

Correct. I need the c(9) EAD - based on the I-485 to be able to keep working.
They received my request on 1-12 with the rest of my AOS.
It's been 125 days of waiting and I just have 45 more days of work, until I get the new EAD.
