My initial I-485 was denied and I am refiling. I just checked the status of the I-765 (EAD) which I filed together the I-485, and the rep told me it was still in progress and that just because the I-485 was denied does not mean that the I-765 has been denied (H-1b and H4 spouse are entitled to EADs based on an approved I-140). I've been waiting since mid-Oct 2017 for the EAD.
I guess I do not, therefore, need to reapply for the EAD with the new filing and I should just continue waiting for my EAD to (hopefully) come through (waited over 7 months already). Does this long wait mean something is wrong or I'm going to be denied or is it just that the system is completely f-ed.
