  • Ead renewal questions

Hello everyone, question about EAD renewal. Any input will be much appreciated.

    So my EAD expires 08/17/2018.
I filed I765 for renewal and PD was 05/29/2018
My category is C09 - Spouse of US Citizen

I spoke to an office this morning and they told me my I797C - Notice of Action has been sent. Does anyone know how long it will take till I receive it?

Also, from what I understand, I will receive an automatic 180 day extension after I receive my I797C - Notice of Action. However, I am having a hard time convincing my employer about this extension. I even sent them a link for the USCIS Employer Handbook where it details the 180 day extension. There only reply was, if your EAD card is not renewed by the expiry date 08/17/2018, we will terminate you.

How can I convince them? Will the I797C-Notice of Action have any details about the extension?

    Thank you

Yes, the receipt will say on it that employment authorization is extended for 180 days. This fact sheet as well as the section from the USCIS Employer Handbook you mentioned also say it. But if your employer still refuses to listen, I'm not sure there's much you can do.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

Can I apply again for the renewal. How much time before can I apply

and have you paid any fees for renewal in the same category.

Can you help me in filling the form.
What should I write as my "Current Immigration status" and "Status at last entry"

I traveled to my home country with my advance parole approved.
