  • Travel during EAD/advance parole renewal

Hi, is it okay to travel in and out of the country while my EAD/Advance parole is being renewed?
I have been renewing my EAD/AP combo card each year for the last 5 years and without any restrictions in travel during the validity period of my existing EAD. However, I have heard that there may have been recent rule changes which could prevent travel once I apply for a new EAD/AP (even though my current card is valid for 5 more months). Could anyone shed some light on this matter for me? Would be most appreciated. Thank you!

You can travel as long as you return before your current AP expires. Your new AP will likely be denied because you traveled abroad while it is pending; they started doing this last year. Your EAD and AOS applications won't be affected, and you can just apply for AP again (it's free anyway) when you come back.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.
