  • Automatic Employment Authorization Document (EAD) Extension for pending AoS?

So my EAD card for OPT is gonna expire next month, 08/15. I also refiled & sent out my I-765 a couple day ago (read my signature, USCIS's mistake)
Today I came across this: https://www.uscis.gov/working-united...-ead-extension, but I'm not sure how its gonna work? Anyone has experienced it before?

That automatic extension does not apply to the F-1 OPT EAD. In plain English, the automatic extension only applies to you if your AOS is taking so long that your first c9 EAD is soon to expire. Then, you would file a timely renewal application, and your I-797 would serve to show your employer that they can consider your EAD automatically renewed.

I would try exploiting the fact that USCIS rejected your I-765 by mistake. "USCIS error" is a reason to expedite. Throw on top of that a gap in employment, and you may just be able to get your c9 EAD sooner.
