USA Work eligiblity

I'm from India. I have no idea about eligibility to work in USA. Recently my profile was shortlisted for an USA company, where they ask for "What is your eligibility to work in the US? Will you require sponsorship?". I said I don't hold eligibility. I searched around and came to know I need EAD certificate.

What I need to follow/apply to get work eligibility in USA?

Your answer should be that you would need sponsorship. You cannot "apply" for work eligibility. Your employer needs to file a H1 for you, they would/should know all the details, and guide you.
