Apply for I-131 (travel document) while I wait for the date to be current for I-485?

I am J1 visa holder with DS2019 valid for a year+

I got my I-140 approved, and recently got my I-797 for EB1A. The bad news? the dates for filing the I-485 are not current, and it seems they won't be for a while...

Under this circumstances, I am considering filing a "solo" I-131 paying the corresponding fee for a Travel Document to fly in and out of the US for the sole purpose of visiting family.

Is this possible? Would there be a conflict with my J1? or would the purpose be not sufficient to the eyes of the USCIS?

No. There's no such thing. You can only apply for Advance Parole if you are applying for Adjustment of Status (I-485) at the same time or have already applied for Adjustment of Status.

You can try to return on your J1 visa but there is a great chance you will be denied entry for immigrant intent.
