Applying for EAD on L2 advice needed pls. Answer 1a or 1c?

Hi,

Seeking advice on how I should answer question 1 on form I765.

I resided in the USA from 2011-14 on a L2. During this time I applied for and received an EAD (however did not use this as I did not end up working and this obviously expired with my previous visa). I returned to the U.K. from 2014-17. In 2017 we returned to the USA and received a new L2 visa. I am now looking to apply once again for an EAD, how should I answer question 1? A) initial permission to accept employment or C) Renewal?

I would say that you would select Initial permission to accept employment because this is a new L2 visa. Once you get this new EAD, you can file for renewal 180 days before it expires.
