  • Advance parole help needed!!!

    Hi everyone,

Me and my husband live in San Fernando Valley and we filed for adjustment of status in July, I just checked the waiting time and it is 14 to 33 months for adjustment of status. One of my parent is very unwell and I will need to go pretty soon to visit them.

I haven't filed for advance parole because the instructions say to put a departure date and also to attach documents for humanitarian reasons like doctor notes. I tried to write UNDEFINED in the date of intended departure but it does not let me.

I have been reading that some people filed it just in case of emergency and got approved. Can someone please help me? What should I put in those fields?
What evidence should I send? Also, should I put for one or more than one trip?

Please I really need some tips!!! Has anyone been in the same situation?

    Thanks in advance

You can put "Unknown" or "TBD" for the questions that ask for date of departure and length of trip. You can try turning off JavaScript in Acrobat Reader and then typing it in. If that doesn't work, you can write it in by hand after printing it out.

You are not asked to attach or provide any reason or purpose for a non-emergency Advance Parole.

But regular Advance Parole could take maybe 5-6 months to get these days. If you need to travel sooner, you might need to expedite the Advance Parole application, or apply for Emergency Advance Parole, and for that, you would need an urgent humanitarian reason.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

        You should go to USCIS

As I know the way to get Advance Parole ASAP is go to the adress where you filed you adress(USCIS office).Explain your situation and maybe they will give it to you same day.So the best way to go and talk to USCIS.Good luck to you.I hope everything will be good with you and with your family!

For this, you'd need to file an emergency AP. You'd need to bring the application with you and include proof (purchased flights, letters from physician, etc.) and the $525 (something like that) fee.
