  • Advance Parole and travel

    Hi everyone,

In February 2018 I applied for a family based (spouse) permanent residency: I-130 and I-485. I also applied for I-131 (Advance Parole) and I-765. I have received in June 2018 my EAD and my Advance Parole document. I am still waiting on having my USCIS interview (my case is "ready to be scheduled" as of 07/2018... I'm living in LA so the availability for an in-office interview are crazy... it'll take me a couple more months).

My question is: my new work will require me to travel internationally (at least once a month). I have my Advance Parole document and my EAD (same card for both) valid until 06/2019. I know it's easy to travel outside, but harder to get back to the US without proper documentation. I have the documents, I just want to make sure USCIS won't assume than I'm abandoning my I-485 process. Technically (if we follow USCIS rules and other threads online) the fact that I have my Advance Parole document is enough for them to not think I'm abandoning my I-485 process. But how can I be sure?

    Thanks
