  • EAD processing times (October 2018 application)

    Hi all,

    I'm Ameya.

For my green card through marriage application, I applied for the following forms together on October 23rd, 2018 (I got the receipt notice for all for that date):
I-130, I -131, I-485 and I-765 c(9) at the National Benefits Center. We live in Chicago. I had my fingerprinting done on November 21st, 2018 and the case status was updated saying 'the fingerprints review was completed on December 5, 2018'. There is no update on the case after that.

I've been going through the forum and a lot of people have mentioned about expediting the case. Here are my questions:
    1. How to expedite the process for EAD? Is there a number to call or a form to be filled?
    2. What is the process for going through your local congressman/woman?
    2. Are the times mentioned on the USCIS website almost accurate?

    I appreciate your responses.

    Thank you.

    Hey!

I am in the same boat as you in terms of timelines.
    Application Oct 26
    Biometrics Nov 30
My case status still shows as fingerprint fee was recved but doesn't say fingerprint review was completed (like yours). I called uscis customer service today to confirm they recved my fingerprints and they said it was recved and it doesn't update on the site. So now I am confused based on your update.

I'm going a bit crazy not working!

I am not sure the process on expediting but I wish you luck!

      Thanks Mrs. Raf.

I have noticed the website update process is a little inconsistent. For some cases they update and some they don't.

Please keep me posted about the progress, and I'll do the same.

      Good luck

USCIS receipt date was Oct 1, 2018
Biometrics were completed Nov 2, 2018

Last update was Oct 1st saying case file was received.

I?m not sure about expediting process/grounds for it. I believe there are forums on here or visa journey about grounds for expedition. As well as on USCIS website it?s showing Sept 18 as the most recent filing date where you can file an inquiry into your case.

I?m expecting an update on my case this week or next since my date is only 12 days away from ?outside of normal processing times?.

@kristythecanuck Thanks. Fingers crossed for you.

My application date is October 23rd. I just checked USCIS website and at National Benefit Center, they're currently processing applications from Sept 22nd. Hopefully soon I'll hear back from them.

Maybe call the USCIS office and try to get an update or expedite?

Did anyone notice the September processing date change today? Earlier this morning it was showing September 23 and now it is showing September 9th for National Benefits Center location.

Today evening (March 12th, 2019) I received an update on my case for I-765 saying "New Card Is Being Produced.
On March 11, 2019, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number <my receipt number>, and will mail it to the address you gave us."

Did anyone from October filing receive this update on their application?

Cool. I'd suggest sign up for myUSCIS, the updates there are more detailed and also you get email notifications.

I signed up for it, but it's weird because it didn't have the update on there. It's when I manually entered the info is when the update popped up. Any ideas as to why?

                              Hmm, that's interesting. I don't know why.
