  • advance parole for emergency

I filed my I-131 at my local office about 16 days ago, and since I showed them a letter stating that my grandmother is very ill, they told me right then that it was approved, they just had to send it to another office out of state to have the travel document issued to me. It was supposed to reach me around the 19th, according to the officer I spoke to. I called customer service and was told that it was approved on the 18th. When it hadn't reached me three days later (I included a pre-paid fedex overnight envelope for them to return the document to me in) I went back to the office, and they couldn't figure out what the other office had done to my application. I then had to fill out a new one, but the fee was waived. I watched the man drop it in the DHL box that day, and he told me they would pay to have it delivered express to me. Well, here I am, a week later and I called customer service again and they told me there was no news on the receipt number yet.
I don't know what to do this time, it seems incredible that they could lose my application twice? It's a miracle that my grandmother hasn't passed away yet, but I really need to leave soon.
If anyone can think of anything I can do now, please let me know.
    Thank you.
