  • Continuing to work while you get new EAD (After applying to renew EAD)

    Your advise is much appreciated.
Here is problem for which I need advise.
My I-485 (Family Based) is still Pending. My EAD expires on 29 Sep 06. I am currently working based on my EAD. I applied to renew my EAD on 14th of August 06. I did my biometrics on 1st of Sep 06.

I know it takes atleast 90 days to get new EAD. CAN I CONTINUE TO WORK BASED ON I HAVE APPLIED TO RENEW MY EAD AND FINISHED BIOMETRICS?

Or Can I get any temp kind of EAD that allows me to work till I get my new EAD?

Guys, your advise is very much appreciated.

No there is nothing like that, when your EAD expires you will not be able to work until you receive your new EAD, well, unless you

My mistake............the grace period (90 days) applies only if the document is damaged or lost/stolen , then the receipt for replacemnt will suffice.

            EAD expires 12/21/06

I am in the same situation. My current EAD expires on 21st Dec.2006 and the EAD renewal application was received by USCIS on 20th Sep. I am really getting concerned now that expiration of my current EAD card is only a month away. Would this case qualify for an Interim EAD? Also, another thing I realized is I haven't received a notice for Biometrics this year. Is it a process that Biometrics is always required when you apply the EAD renewal?
Any information anyone can share on this subject is greatly appreciated.
            Thanks..
