Can we apply for medicare

My wife is sponcering me for GC. She is a USC, she had a miscarriage few days before and as we did not have insurance we were thinking of applying for medicare program( which takes care of people who dont make enough money). Last year she made more than enough for 2 people's family. But is it advisable to apply for medicare as someone told me that sponcer should not be receiving any aid from government.

Well she doesnt havent to be your sole sponsor.........Look at the I-864 form and see if says anyhting about public aid. of course, YOU cannot apply for any aid.
