Whats interim work permission?

My I485 denied so i didnt receive my EAD yet.uscis officer told me i should apply for interim EAD?Does anybody know what it is?how long is its validity?

interim EAD?

Hi,
I went to the USCIS today to get an update on my receipt # issue. she said that she will email them to update my address..I also asked about the Interim EAD and she said that USCIS DO NOT issue interim cards anymore...SO i am not sure what the officer had told you.
Also, did he/she say why 485 was denied? as far as I know, EAD is usually not valid if i-485 is denied. BUt I wish you all the best.....
