EAD required for minor?

I am applying for I-485 now and I have this question:

Do I need to apply for EAd(I-765) for my 5 year old kid? logically I don't understand the purpose.

You dont need to do that since the EAD is only used as authorization to work and your 5yr old won't be working.

Even you dont have to do the I765 if you dont think you'll be working.
