Hi
I (British girl) got married and applied for I-130, I-485, work permit. The receipt date was 20 days past my UK visa waiver.
I have now applied for advance parole as we planned a formal wedding in London. Our attorney did not mention that the 20 day excess could mean I may not be approved.
Does anyone know how likely I am to get turned down for this?
Also because of change of name of the depts we had to resubmit for advance parole and it now looks as though I won't get it before I need to leave.
Does anyone know if its ok to be sent to me and then I can use it on the way back?
Is the "unlawful stay" of 20 going to affect me coming back in through immigration?
Am strongly considering cancelling the wedding for 250 if the odds are I'm going to get bounced on the AP or on entering back into USA.
Could use some real life experience. Who knew that really wanting to be married ( one with only hubby and once with all our friends and family ) would make immigration think I was a fraud or risky ????
