EAD/AP Extension

Hi-

My EAD will expire in May 2005. Given the current processing times I want to apply ahead of time. If I apply in Sep 2004 and if somehow BCIS approved in Oct 2004

1) will they provide validity of the new EAD only upto Oct 2005
or

2) take into consideration my current validity and extend for one year (upto May 2006)?

Your response if someone has been in the same situation will be very much appreciated.
