Emergency AP (for renewal) - Documents needed

My situation:

1. I-140 approved
2. I-485 pending
3. EAD approved
4. First AP approved for travel from May 06, 2003 until May 07,2004
5. I applied for second AP for travel in 2004 (after May 07,2004) on March 22, 2004.
6. I need to travel to France urgently for work on April 25, 2004 and stay there (in France) until June 27, 2004.
7. Since, the second AP does not have a chance of getting approved before I plan to leave, I am planning on walking in to the NYC district office to get ask for an Emergency AP document.
8. Documents that I plan to take with me (apart from the approval notices and earlier AP) are : Flight tickets and a letter from the director of the research lab in France indicating why I need to be present in France on that date.

Please let me know if these documents are sufficient to get an emergency AP from the district office. Is there any precedent for non-death related Emergency AP approvals? I would greatly appreciate any info.
