just wanted some advice...
my grandpa recently was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor and the doctors have only given him 6 weeks to live...:\ I, of course want to go back to the UK to visit within the next 6 weeks but have a pending case for adjustment of status...does AP take a really long time or do you think that I'll be able to get in in the next 3 weeks? thanks!

How long has it been since you filed?

Have you received a notice of receipt for your I-485 yet?

All you can do is try. Get some sort of documentation on doctor's or hospital letterhead of the nature of the medical emergency, including the prognosis. Take your notice of receipt for the I-485, and that medical letter, plus a filled out I-131 with an attachment explaining the urgency of your need for immediate travel, plus a check or money order for the filing fee, and be at the local CIS office about an hour before it opens (at least) in order to be certain of being seen that day. Show the CIS information officer everything and hope for the best.
