What is involved in renewing an EAD?

You would need to complete the I-765 form again and submit the $120 to renew.

Depends on your local office how long it will take. For instance, for me I was able to walk into my local office and get my renewal the same day.

Some offices don't allow walk-ins and you have to mail your paperwork in. In this case you would also have to supply them with a photo like you did in the beginning when you first filed. There are instructions with the I-765 off the BCIS website.
