Did my AP expire?

I got AP issued in Oct 2002, valid through Sept 2003. I went to India in Dec 2002, came back in Jan 2003. When I was coming back, my AP and I94 was stamped with Jan16 2004 date. Is my AP considered expired or valid till Jan16 2004?

I am not sure what is Jan 16 2004 all about, but AP is valid for 1 year. Therefore, it expired in Sep 2003

If it's checked for multiple entry and says valid till Sept etc. You should be all set.

AP valid

It is valid until Jan. 16 04, since it is the I-94 that gives you the multi-entrance permission.

Then I am confused. From Matt, it sounds like the expiration date became Jan 16 2004 rather than Sep 2003 after your entrance in Jan 2003. Could I assume that as long as you use the AP once an year, the AP keeps entending the expiration date?

AP expires on the date listed on the AP.

1. AP can be used multiple times on or before the expiry date listed on the AP.
2.AP does NOT extent automatically. IT expires at the date listed on the AP document.
3.You need to file for a fresh AP.
