Do I need H1-B extension?

Hi,
I have applied for EAD Aug '29th and my H1-B is getting expired on 12th October. So do I need to apply for H1 extension as I have already applied for EAD and expecting it some time next month?

Having applied EAD does not mean anything. i.e., it does not put you in any status.

As long as you get your EAD approved before your H1 expires, you are fine. You need either H1 or EAD to work.
