Hi All,
I have applied for the change of status (I-485) back in Feb. 2002. I have received my EAD a few months ago. I have an H1-B status and I am waiting to receive my Green Card by 4-5 months based on rumors I have heard from friends.
My employer has sponsored my H1-B. I have been working for my employer's client for almost 3 years. My contract is coming to an end in about one month (3 years limit).
If my contract-house is not able to find me a new assignment - while I am waiting for my Green Card to arrive:
Q) Can I find a new job by myself? (It has been more than 180 days from the time I applied for the change of status and I have a valid EAD)
Q) What happens to my H1-B status if I switch job by myself?
I heard that having the EAD or some call it EAC is enough to find job by myself, is this correct?
Q) Do I still need sponsorship while working for another employer and at the same time waiting for the Green Card to arrive?
Thank you,
Bob
