Travel to India with H1B approval, and AP application

I am on OPT on F1 visa now. I have my H1B approval. I am planning to travel to India in December 07 and return by mid Jan 08. I am planning to
get my H1 visa stamped while in India. Meanwhile I have applied for EAD and AP through my husband's employer on Aug 17th, 07.

If I receive EAD & Advance parole before I leave for India:
-Do I have to change my status to show that I'm working on EAD instead of H1. If yes, then how long does that take?
-Do I need to take any other documentation other than EAD and advance parole while I travel?
-I assume I will be canceling my appointment with the American Consulate (in India) that was meant for my H1 stamping, as I will not need it anymore.

If I receive EAD & Advance Parole while I am in India and before I go for the visa stamping interview with American Consulate:
- Should I cancel the appointment?
-Again, what will be the procedure to switch from H1 to EAD+Parole while I am there.

If I receive EAD & Advance Parole while I am in India and after I get my H1 stamped:

-Should I choose to return on H1 or Advance parole. At the immigration in the port of entry in US and while departing from India, what proceedure should I follow.
