EAD and Biometrics

Can anyone please tell me if Fingerprinting and Biometrics is required for EAD(I-765) only if you are applying for EAD by e-filing or is it required for both e-filing and paper filing?

Fingerprints necessary

You will have to get fingerprints at some point to get your EAD processed and sent to you. Actually, when you receive your EAD you will see that it has your thumb on it. Check the image at:
