Working on EAD and new Law.

Hi,

My wife and I had applied for EAD, AP and I-485 at NSC. Now once she gets EAD, she will start working on EAD. Will that automatically convert my status on EAD instead of H-1B ? My H-1 visa expires in 2002. Now say I change employer after 180 days, can I still use EAD to continue work or I need to get new H-1 visa ?
