To apply EAD without I-485 receipt

I am planing to apply for EAD on recent 485 filing on July 31st. We finished the finger prints and I got my EAD. But I did not apply EAD for my wife. I am planing to do it ASAP, but my lawyer is not sending the 485 receipt. My question is, Can I apply EAD with the photo copy of the ASC appointment?

I checked recently with the INS cust. support to get a duplicate receipt for 485, they said they will not send duplicate and advised to get the copy from my lawyer. In this situation, please advise can I apply with the ASC receipt.

You suggestions are appreciated.

That is ridiculous, demand your lawyer to give you a copy of the I-485 receipt. You can not apply for EAD without a copy of it.
