  • Got EAD, yet to get AP. How to get AP in a week?

    Hi,

I am on H1B and my wife is on H4. Our stamped visas expired however we have our approved H1B & H4 extension notice. We did concurrent filing during July 2007. Both of us got our EAD and I got my AP too. However, my wife is yet to get her AP. We have to travel out of US in a week. I live in NJ. How could we get an AP in a week?

    PLEASE HELP.

    Thanks,
    Karthik.

It is basically impossible to get the AP in 1 week.

If you have not used your EADs though, you still remain in H1 visas and that means you can re-enter the US with them.

The AP takes 60-90 days after they receive your application. It has nothing to do with Biometrics.

          Thanks

It makes sense. People keep telling me that the picture that shows on the AP form is the one taken at Biometrics? It doesnt make sense, since the Biometrics appointment does not mention the number on the AP receipt.
Is there any way of getting AP faster? I have heard that you can pay for overnight delivery? whom should I speak with?

          Thanks

There is no more overnight delivery.

The fast way to get AP is to make an infopass to your local USCIS office, and speak with an immigration officer about the emergency or the urgent reason for your trip, bring evidence of such and ask the officer to expedite it.

For the record, the picture on the AP is one of the passport photos you submitted with the application. So, it has nothing to do with Biometrics.

              Change in Service Center

Have you noticed that many procedures are being sent to National Service Center? Why is this?

For a few years now, NBC (National Benefits Center) handles ALL EADs and APs.

what is the solution for my son, if he needs AP and we are traveling to India in the last week of Dec.
They received our(My wife and My) i-131 On October 18, 2007.

Everyone who is pending AOS (I-485) need an approved Advance Parole before leaving the country, regardless of their age, if they want to return they need to wait for the AP to re-enter.

If your son, even if he is 5, leaves without it, the petition will be void/cancelled.
