EAD stuck in Name Check...Mad and confused!!

Today I appeared for my 2nd infopass for EAD. It has been 117 days at NBC. IO told me the EAD is pending because of name check at FBI.. I pleaded but, she was politely rude and said...We can't do anything at this time and name check can take months.

Reading this forum does not say anything about name check requirement for EAD...

Pllease advise..

Are you sure?

I never heard of name check for EAD either! Have you called customer service to double check the info you got at USCIS office? That sounds really strange to me?!?!?

I did call 1-800 number and they said its name check. I am not sure what can I do under these circumstances.

Any thoughts or sugesstions will be appreciated.

I can't believe you are still waiting?!?! I remember my application for AP took 5 months as well. However, I had received a RFE so that delayed the process significantly. Did you receive any RFE? What does USCIS say when you call them?

My AP is still pending and now it's been over 5 months. I was just wondering what was your receipt date, mine is August 16, 2007.

I didn't get any RFE, called customer service last week and they have forwarded a service request. Not sure how long that might take?

Well, that was back in Dec 2006 when I had filed for AP. Got RFE in January and the AP in June!
Service request is a good sign that something might come up for you though... it shouldn't take much longer.

May I ask you what is the base you are filing your EAD for (I-130, I-140...)?

Did you get your EAD card???
I am in a similar situation. Its been more than 8 months and EAD is pending due to security clearance at texas service center. My I-130 is already approved. I 485 is pending...I am thinking of filing a law suit against USCIS for this delay...
