I received acknowledgement for I-485 and AP applied by my employer couple months back and I have also gotten my biometrics taken. I still have not received acknowledgement for EAD which was supposedly applied by my employer along with 485 and AP.
I have asked my employer the details of EAD and I am told they will check with the attorney to contact the INS if they received the application and what the status is etc. The sad part is my employer does not give me contact details of the attorney as I am supposed to contact only my employer. Now I doubt if they have even applied for my EAD.
Is there anyway to find out if they have applied for EAD? Or Can I apply EAD on my own? What are the consequences of applying for EAD by myself and what is the impact in case my employer has also applied for it. Please advice.
