L2 EAD renewal

Hi,

My husband is on L2 EAD and it expires on 24th Mar 2008. Also his I94 is expiring on this date. My attorney has applied for my L1 (blanket) visa renewal and I have got the receipt for the same.

1) Is it possible for me to apply for my husband's EAD renewal based on my visa renewal receipt?
2) If not do I have to wait for my visa renewal approval to apply for his EAD renewal?
3) Since his I94 is expiring on 24th Mar 2008, while applying for his EAD renewal is it sufficient for me to support the application with my renewed visa approval?

The correct way would have been to apply for extension of L1 and L2 along with renewal of EAD all at the same time.

I hope that you did apply for L2 extension, if not then go ahead send the two applications now, requesting link up to your L1

L2-EAD Renewal

My husband is on L1-Visa and i am on L2-visa(Dependent) which expires(both) on April 24,2008.

I have my EAD which is valid upto April 24,2008(expiry date).I am currently on the job now and i need to renew my EAD as well as i need to extend my Visa status.

My husband's company has applied for extension of both L1 and L2 visas and we are yet to get the receipt notice.(They are not ready to apply for my EAD renewal as i am not their employee.)

1.As i need to apply for the renewal of EAD well in advance of 90 days,Can i apply for EAD RENEWAL with the Receipt notice of myslef and my husband's Visa Extension or do i have to wait till my husband gets the Approval Notice.(i-94 included).

2.If so, can i enclose the Current I-94(dated April 24,2008).

L2EAD Renewal

My Husband's Compnay has applied for L1and L2 visa extension.
They said they will not apply for EAD,so i need to take care of them.
Please let me know whether i can apply for EAD with my L2 visa extension Receipt.

yes you can apply with the receipt of extension you should have just requested the lawyers to include you EAD application and check with the original application, but you can do it seperately using the recipts and form I131. search this websites visa section for list of docs.

L2 EAD Renewal

Thank you so much for your prompt reply.
I have few questions:
1.It is mentioned that the process for Renewal of work permit is same as that of applying for new EAD (just i need to inculde a copy of old EAD).Nowhere it is mentioned about I-131.Can you give some idea on why i need to file I-131?

2.For the Supporting Documents they ask for the I-94?My I-94 is valid till April 24,2004.Do i have to enclose the old I-94 as i will be getting my new I-94 once my visa is approved?

I-131 is the number of application form for EAD, that is how you will apply for it.

I applied my EAD through form I-765.I think i need to use the same form for renewal.
I-131 seems to be for AP.
Any idea of what all need to be enclosed with the renewal application.(I-765)

sorry I mixed up the two form numbers. recently the two forms have been up for discussion a lot. You are right about I-765
